Jesus Blesses Children
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
This account is crucial because Jesus extolling the purity of children conflicts with the concept of them being inherently sinful. It offers a perspective on the natural innocence of the young in Christian scripture.
THE CHRISTIAN RESPONSE
They argue this teaches the value of childlike faith and humility, not necessarily denying original sin. Muslim Response: If the kingdom of God belongs to these children, it supports the view that children are naturally pure rather than tainted by an inherited sin.
