Faith and Works
So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
[An-Nahl - 97]
[An-Nahl - 97] Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter).
This matter is relevant because it underscores a shared theological principle: genuine belief isn’t a static concept but one that motivates ethical living. By pointing out that Christianity also recognizes the link between faith and deeds, Muslims can show that Islamic teachings aren’t novel. Instead, Islam reaffirms this balance, aligning itself with a timeless truth upheld in previous scripture, thus reinforcing continuity in divine guidance.
