The Oneness of God
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!
[Al-Baqarah - 163]
[Al-Baqarah - 163] And your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), La ilaha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
This verse is relevant because it establishes a central theological principle that Islam also upholds: the absolute oneness of God. Muslims use such biblical affirmations to demonstrate that Islam does not introduce a new concept, but rather restores an unaltered understanding of God’s indivisible unity. By drawing on this passage, Muslims highlight the consistency of pure monotheism across scriptures.
