[Al-Furqān - 74]
[Al-Furqān - 74] And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)."
This is relevant because it highlights an ethical ideal—leading by righteous example—shared between biblical and Islamic teachings. By showing that Christianity and Islam concur on the importance of embodying virtues, Muslims affirm that Islamic morality isn’t a detour from prior revelation. Instead, it affirms the original intentions of earlier prophets, consolidating the notion that Islam reestablishes authentic divine directives.
